James marries Lynne for love. As a big bonus, he receives the greencard. But what he desires the most are children, which Lynne is not able to have. She lies to him for years until James finds out the awful truth, and walks out on her. In retaliation, Lynne calls INS and reports the marriage as fraud. Immigration immediatly revokes the card.
Two years later, Lynne returns with promises of the greencard again. Though they never divorced, James has long since moved on with his life. Nevertheless, he is eager at the opportunity to redeem the elusive papers. Life in America without it is hell.
